As for me - I'm just thawing out - and finally finished cleaning my Parkers - WHICH ALL OF YOU SHOT!!!  Dang - next time you shoot them - you clean them!! :D

Seriously..  Here are my thoughts for the day..  It's just a ramble...

First - I want to say THANK YOU to Bob, Peter and Scott..  You three did a wonderful job at "making" this happen.  Yea - It was danged cold - and the targets had their own mind in the wind..  But - you know what?  So what..!!!  We had a terrific time..!!!

As well - I want to thank Albert and Laura for Sponsoring (http://www.classicusc.com/) this "frostbite snow shoot"...  I handed out your brochures  and made a little speech about you guys..  As most know - I'm a quiet shy reserved kind of guy - so that part was rather difficult for me - but - I just wanted to say Thank you!!!  I'll send you check into PGCA into the General Fund, so all PGCA Members can benefit from your Sponsorship, OK??

As for me..???

A couple of personal thoughts..

To Dave Trahan at On Point Kennel (http://www.onpointkennel.com) thanks for coming by with your first Hammer Parker from your Grand-Dad...  In my world, you are what Parker shooting is all about....

To Pete and Dave S....  Grandpa would have been thrilled that his Parker was shot and admired by folks who appreciate what he appreciated...  You two shot it with a vengeance - and the targets were tough....  I wonder how he would have scored today in the conditions?  It doesn't matter...  What matters is folks that just appreciate that Parker for all it is.  In that, it is home - and in that - there is no more.  You are more than welcome to shoot it anytime..

Austin & Pam...  You two are wonderful!!  Pam - great pics!!!  Thankfully - you take better pics than Austin...  As for Austin??  You are an amazing person..!  While I know you spent years in the Arctic - or Antarctic (I dun'no which??  'Cept there was a LOT of ice and snow??) - I found it a bit over the edge you showed up today in sandels, shorts and a T'Shirt complaining about the "warm weather"??   :D

To Danny S. who shot my little VH (E????) .410...  You did just fine...  You show up - and you'll keep shooting it...

To Dean...  Well - what can I say???  You shot the last round of skeet with your hair on fire and like a man possesed...  Thankfully - Kathy's Parker shots well for you, as her gun saved you a lot of embarassing comments from me...  Almost...  Now - about your "dog ear cap with fluffy muffs"..  Not so much..??  See the pics...  ;)

To Robin....  What a wonderful A grade 16GA!!!  Next time - it would be my honor to try it, if you don't mind??  Also - let's hit Southern this year and teach these boys how to shoot, OK? (Well - not so much me - but - I'm counting on you to do that??)...

To Bob F....  Remember, the camra lens always adds 10-15 pounds???

To Scott K. - High Gun for the day...  CONGRATS Scott!!!  And - no - my Parker Showgun ("Shogun") isn't for sale...  If you had let me beat you - it might have been??  But - well - now it's not... :P

Anyway - just my rambles as I thaw out....

But - in short - my thanks to all of you...

It was fun...

Today - it was what PGCA is about...

And it IS ABOUT what makes PGCA Members, collectors and Sponsors different from all the rest...

My thanks for that,

John

We spent appropriate amounts of time in the clubhouse pretending to oogle each other's Parkers when, in fact, we were trying to thaw frozen fingers.

This is Danny Suponski speaking:

Hey guys, I had a lot of fun today, shooting that .410 was really fun, even tho I only hit 3 birds, it was the winds fault.. I swear, and the fact that I hadnt shot in about 5 years, but never the less I had a lot of fun, the weather couldnt have been better..well yea it coulda.. but then it wouldnt have been such a unique experiance. John thanks again for letting me shoot that sweet little gun. I will be putting up some pics that I took, Dean posted some of mine as well, I think this should become a yearly tradition, a New Years Day shoot. Anyways.. Happy New Year everyone and see yall soon

He was caught on camera....  :)

Ear flaps flopping in the breeze...

And for the show gun?  I think it passed even Dean's close inspection...

As for Dean???

Your previously unfired hammer gun shoots great!!!  While you were disassembling my Parker DH 20GA - I was on the other field and..??...!!!....

Your hammer shoots GREAT!!!  I didn't dis-assemble it - as you did mine..  I just shoot these thingys - and there was no camera around..??!!....  ;)

J/K...

Or am I???

:D

Best to ya'!!!!

We were back at my house in less than an hour. Kathy had a nice fire going in the Vermont Castings woodstove and a fresh batch of hot venison stew and cornbread. Then we retired to the living room and looked over a few Parkers and discussed many of the high points of the day at Major Waldron's. Finally we all gathered around my laptop to check the forum and had a lot of laughs all over again.

I can't thank Pete, Scott and Bob enough for all they did to bring this fun shoot together. You guys really know how to entertain guests. Thank you so much ! I hope to do it again . . . even in the same weather ;)

Thanks for asking John . . . (and I knew you didn't) . . . (shoot it, that is ;))
