I got my brochure today for the James Julia Auction for October 4 & 5, 2011 and there are a whole bunch of small & big bore Parkers: 410s, 28s & 20s, including a .410 GHE in "high original condition"! Several 8 bores are also included. A "stone mint" 20 bore BHE, an AAHE Pigeon gun, a "single family legacy" A-1 Pigeon gun circa 1919 & a B Grade lifter. This would be a great time to have some disposable cash.

George ,They really are coming out of the wood work ,when have you seen so many 28 Ga. and 410 Guns listed for sale on the Major Players on line ! I just picked up a really nice 28 DHE 00 Frame gun a couple of weeks ago , just can't quite afford the 410's ! BUTTTT would love to have one !

Yes, there are some great guns on the market. That is how the owners got them, in this kind of market. Look closely and make some great decisions. Now is the time. I would like to "buy a gun" myself. My advice to younger and less experienced Parker collectors is to buy quality rather than quanitiy. Don't buy for percentage of market price, in other words, don't look for bargains. Buy the really good stuff at any fair price. You will be rewarded.

What's crazy is that there are enough small bore guns to pick and choose from, but I still can't find a 32" D grade 12 ga. with an english stock. Didn't think it was an uncommon gun?

There were 1,211 D grades made with 32" titanic steel barrels. Assume 10% were made with english stocks and you have really narrowed down to approx 121 guns made that fit the bill. I think that would qualify as a fairly rare bird and certainly a gun that would be highly coveted.

There was a 32" DH at Wildwood Guns......here is the desrciption from their site. Appears to be a good shooter. I looked at it a couple of times as it has a fairly high stock and fit me quite well. Looked like the right barrel was open up to IC. Good shooter.....but it has been monkeyed with a bit....

I recieved my catalogue from Jim Julia's today and "MY LORD"! what a collection of Parkers, Winchesters,Brownings, Ithacas, Foxes & Smiths as well as a goodly assortment of English & European doubles. There are three 8 bore Parkers (one upgraded to A-1 Special) and a Grade 2 8 bore L.C. Smith. More than a dozen small bore Parkers, a Grade 5 (B) lifter, a $250 Grade lifter......And the beat goes on. And that's just Session #1 of 2.
