Default Single trigger made from double trigger?

This is a strange one. The double trigger on GH #117028 has been converted to a single trigger with the back trigger cut off leaving the front trigger to fire both barrels. I do not have this gun in hand so I have not had it apart, but what sort of changes would have to made to the trigger group for something like this? Anyone ever heard of such a thing? This is a restoration project I'm contemplating, but I may be better off sticking a sharp stick in my eye and calling it good.
