The Price of Buying Guns at RIAC just went up...
I drove up for the preview day at Rock Island yesterday. The very nice woman at the bidder number check-in informed me that RIAC is now collecting sales tax on all sales (because of the Supreme Court ruling). If you buy on site, that means another 8.5%, and if you have it shipped, they base the tax on your zip code and the state/local tax of your location. Ironically, and I don't know why, there is no sales tax charged for shipping to Missouri(!) -- we most definitely have sales tax here.
Not too much in the way of doubles from my vantage, but there were some very nice, historic items on display. Get your check books ready for tax time.
