I have a Leopold VariX 3 2.5-8 on a Remington model 700 Mountain chambered in 7-08 that I sighted 3" high at 100yds the day the gun was new about10 years ago. That gun has bee all over the US and Canada and has accounted for a lot of game and though most of our shots are inside 100 yards, every year I shoot a couple of deer with confidence at 300+ yards. As long as you are careful there is little need for resighting your rifle. Of course it’s a good excuse to go to the range for a little shooting.
