Default forend ?

My Parker DH was made in 1905 and I assume it came with a splinter forend, the research letter does not say. I actually like the beavertail forend better but it's not that big of a deal, I was just wondering about the semi-beavertail configuration. The research letter also says the gun's weight is 7lbs 12 ounces, it sure didn't seem that heavy for the time I carried it pheasant hunting in South Dakota two weeks ago--maybe because it's just so darn beautiful. Default Never Say Never

Many photos of old time competitors show them with the fore hand around the barrels. The trap fore end was derived from the single barrel trap gun.
However, a three frame fore end on a two frame gun could produce the forend you describe.

Best, Austin

Destry made the best comment. Where is the letter? Sorry, Austin, but a #3 frame forend on a #2 frame gun looks like it was made that way. There is just no obvious difference.
