The thing that caught my eye when I saw the listing for that gun was the 0 in the barrel steel mark area on the barrel flat.

82226 03 0 in steel mark area annotated with red arrow.jpg

I didn't see a picture in the listing showing the rib markings.

From the earliest Quality VH guns I've recorded, the mark in the barrel steel location is Kf --

89095 04 Kf in barrel steel mark location red arrow.jpg

The barrels rib marked Titanic and Acme have a K in the barrel steel location near the front of the right barrel flat. I've recorded these Kf and K markings into the 134xxx serial number range. Beginning in the 135xxx serial number range I begin seeing the V, T, A in a circle markings.

Would love to see the barrel flats of some more of these 1895 vintage Quality DH guns with Vulcan Steel barrels.

From the view of the receiver, the gun appears to be in remarkably nice condition.

Early resto or not, it's very nice. Shoot it and enjoy it.

The "zero" barrel flat marking should be no mystery since these were the first black barrel guns in low grades and the official marking had not been determined. We haven't seen the rib marking yet, but the early ones I have seen were marked Vulcan. Someone soon determined that the barrel flat marking would be "V".
