Unlucky Deer
Came by rather close so I shot him with a DH 6 frame 34” gun shooting vintage factory 0 buck loads from the 30’s as aged by Professor Noreen . Shot him at twenty yards at the boom of the gun he ran towards the tree I was in and dropped 10-15 feet from the base of the tree . The third picture was taken from my perch in the tree .

I hadn’t patterned the load before going as I didn’t want to waste any and had a handloaded buck load in the left barrel in case the vintage shell didn’t go boom . When skinning the little fellow I saw plenty holes and even found one in the hide on the off side .
