The 16-gauge Game Loads had been put up by the original Remington Company for many years in black-colored compression formed plastic hulls with a 6 point crimp, which were about 2.30" loaded and 2-9/16" after firing, ideal for original 2-9/16" chambered vintage shotguns. Those spent Game Load hulls were and are in high demand by many who reload for 16g.

Reportedly the new Vista/Remington Game Loads are also black-colored but made with typical Federal straight-wall hulls with paper base wad, and are nominal 2-3/4" after firing. Further it seems the Claybuster wads many use for the older real Remington 16g GL compression formed hulls are a loose fit in the new Federal design GL hulls.

More to think about for those who reload for 16-gauge. Meanwhile anyone shooting the older Remington 16g Game Load shells would be well advised not to toss them into the spent hull containers.
