Back to my original query. I contacted Tom Archer, author of the article where the gloves were pictured. He bought them back in the 80's and couldn't remember who the maker was. Then casting about on the web I discovered that Purdey offers a pair that look almost identical. Around $300 by the time I'd get them here. That's more than I paid for my first double gun, so I decided I didn't need them that badly .
