It was a 12 ga. GHE. Remington owned Parker Bros. This stock was made in 1937 so it probably was made in Meriden, CT.

It could very well have been from a 12ga. 1/2 frame gun. S/N 240571 is a known GHE 1/2 frame. The width matches, not sure about the height. Maybe someone knows what the height should be.

That B is a bit of a mystery to me as well. Is there any chance that it could be a capital R ? May we see a picture ?
