Here are two more 3 frames only 13 years apart. The first a 10/12 bore 2BS from 1892 and the second a 12 bore from 1905. Both with 32 inch barrels.
The patterns certainly changed over that span of time. Earlier having considerably more detail.

With that understood - I cannot figure how you or anyone could get away from that 36" gun! Those opportunities are few and far between in my world.
