Was curious so looked in safe and got Smiths out. Grades field, ideal, skeet, specialty and crown. Years 1942, 1930, 1939, 1950 and 1927. Hope this is helpful. James

Wonder why the middle gun(1939) doesn't have the hole?

It does. It is plugged and is farther forward.
