Toby, just so you know, you can cock the gun in this way:
1. install the barrels onto the receiver.
2. use your finger or whatever to push in the pin that protrudes out from the radius of the receiver where the forearm would normally fit and hold it down.
3. with your other hand hold the gun as you would usually do and push the top lever to the right until he barrels open a bit.
4. Now you can stop pushing the pin and grasp the barrels and tilt them downward as if you were opening the gun.
This will cock your hammers.
From here you can close the barrels as usual. Do Not pivot the top lever again unless you are holding on to the barrels as they will fall off the action when the forearm is not on.
