Some of the best dubbing I have ever used for nymphs is the down from the body feathers of upland gamebirds because it so readily absorbs water and will not hinder the sink rate of the fly. Conversely, the down of a duck or goose is great for tiny CDC dry flies. All down can be dyed any color you wish or can be used in its natural color.

I thought I would take advantage of the knowlege of some of our members that fly fish. My father gave these to me a few years ago before he passed away. Unfortunately I failed to listen real well to the details surrounding these. I believe he told me a friend of his gave them to him. They had belonged to his father how was a traveling fishing equipment salesman. The are clearly hand made displays. In information would be fun to know.
