When Western Cartridge Co. introduced their high velocity, progressive burning powder, Super-X load in 1922, it was essentially a progressive burning powder load put up in their FIELD shell --

About 1928, they added the SEAL-TITE wad --

and shortly thereafter also began offering their copper coated LUBALOY shot loadings at a premium price. In 1931 they introduced the non-corrosive priming --

In 1939, Western Cartridge Co., and most of our other ammunition companies, began offering the folded SUPER-SEAL CRIMP on their trap and skeet loads, but the world wide unpleasantness delayed the introduction of the pie crimp on hunting loads to the late 1940s. Western Cartridge Co. also added the SUPER-SEAL CUP WADS to their hunting loads after WW-II --
