According to rumor; a few years ago, a high school shooter loaded his Browning BT-99, then being "cool" kicked the gun up to shoot with it on his toes. It went off, shooting his toes off.
So, now, You will see high school competition shooters using a magnetic "gun rest" they put on the ground when putting their gun muzzle-down.
I am one of those old "foolish" shooters who rests his skeet gun on his toe (broken open), and my trap gun is too long for me, Mr. Shorty, to do that, so I just hold it.
