Here in Michigan, there is a nationally-ranked skeet shooter who is missing a toe - just like this picture

My wife's uncle lost a toe to that old habit of resting the gun on his foot. That mistake a few years before WWII kept him out of the war.

Yeah, I think the action should be open or the gun "officially" cleared before doing that. I rest the muzzles on my shoe quite frequently, but the action is always broken...
