I've used a variety of goose calls for 40 years and was, in a reasonable period of time, proficent with all of them. Then I got the bright idea that I should try a short reed call. It took 6 months of daily practice (to and from work in the privacy of my truck) just to get a consistent honk out of the dang thing.
