A friend has a nice #3 frame D grade with the stock shortened to 13 1/2". The SSBP was fitted to the gun again, but being to large it was roughly filed to fit. I wish they had the presence of mind to do something like what is shown by Bruce.

Yup, Harry, the conversion to heel and toe plates is a great solution when shortening a skeleton buttplate gun to a shorter length. Of course, no shortening of skeleton buttplate guns will be contemplated fron now on, I hope.
