I had a Golden Retriever many years ago, each time she went into heat a blue tick hound took up residence on the front porch, stayed there for days. I could not find the owner any place near us. I have no idea how far he came.


John, yes it can be a long walk- I had a setter that would lock up on a woodcock from a real distance (maybe not that far)- you could not walk in from the side, you would walk in front and look back a couple times to make sure you were on the line to the bird.
