I own a Lefever E grade with one very nice piece of Circassian on it with about 4.5" of drop. Needless to say, it is useless.

Don't discount that "freakish drop" gentlemen. This is/was a very historically important Sterly with compelling provenance. Future DGJ article in the works but I can tell you that the original owner played HB for Notre Dame and later took up residence in Paris.

I saw that gun when it was first posted for sale. Nice long description......every detail about the wood and metal finish. Lots of pictures of the receiver and barrels. Not a word about the stock! The poor guy that bought this got took bad.
