Ray, the single bird on the left side is a very accurate representation of the now extinct Passenger Guinea. Thought to be the last member of the fowl family with lips rather than a beak. The lack of a tail was speculated to be the reason these birds were seldom reported to fly but got around by hitching a ride on any passing wagon or train: hence the name and the frequent depiction of them looking over their shoulder.
