Yes, there are many parts in a Parker gun with some pretty tight tolerances. Keep it clean and you should not have issues. Granted, some pretty dirty guns still function, but not as nice as they should.
Just grease wear areas like the roll joint, forend iron, and bolt bite. Do not over oil anywhere else.
