I miss the Photo Fridays so how about this one.
Here's the 4 wt rod I just finished, I decided to make a box for it too. Shown with a 20/16 Repro. The 4 wt is sort of the 20 gauge of fly rods.Attached Image (viewed 574 times):

The 6 wt is sort of the 12 ga of rods. Here's a cane 6 wt rod my dad gave me with a Remington-transition VHE. Both have had some cosmetic surgery but both are lovely. Both were made within a few months of each other I believe. Attached Image (viewed 572 times):

The 9 wt is kind of the 10 ga of rods. Here an original San Francisco Winston 9 wt shown with a fluid steel PH 10 ga. Gun is much older than rod. Attached Image (viewed 569 times):

Finally the 2 wt is the 28 ga of rods. I don't have a 28 ga parker (sadly) but this pair is hot off the press. I finished this 2 wt right after the RBL arrived Attached Image (viewed 568 times):

Nice box Dave - you're very talented.
Shucks, I could have sold you a Parker 28 so you could post a picture of it with the rod

So, I guess that makes my 1.75oz 00-wt custom flyrod on a Sage blank with a 2.2oz reel the BB gun equivalent??

Its hard to find good guns or good rods out here on the prairie, but we can troll with the rowboat this way across a stock pond. Attached Image (viewed 491 times):

You guys are the best. Great guns, great rods, and great senses of humor. You never see anything like this on the LC Smith site.

Truth be known, I probably killed as many birds, fish and bullfrogs with a Model 12 and a cane pole than all those Parkers and fly rods put together. (Did most of that work out in Douglas County Kansas Bruce... but we never fished with our feet) Last edited on Mon May 18th, 2009 02:49 am by Dave Fuller

Col. Day's reel looks to be a BT level-wind "Odiferous" model first introduced in 1947.

Can you roll cast into the wind with a 2 weight? I have enough trouble with a GEF.
Best, Austin

If you live in Michigan, you cannot roll cast a 2 weight if someone breaks wind in St. Louis
