Default New Rainy Day Gun

I know some of you fellas were checking out the latest Fort Worth Cabelas 20 Ga. Parker ,but I have been so busy ,I haven't had time to get on and visit !Well there was some discussion earlier as to where that old Beat up DH Damascus Barreled 20 ended up so I thought I would let you know it arrived in Pa. Wednesday ! I finally had a chance last evening to give the Old Girl a good looking over and a bit of a cleaning ! I am glad Cabelas don't clean these old Guns up as you would have to wonder just what they might use on them ! Well She's not without faults but is actually a Pretty Nice Gun ! She weighs in at 6 Lb. 3 Oz. and has a very Good set of 28" Barrels ,the Barrels were my biggest concern but there is only a small bit of hazing in front of the forcing cones and no actual pitting in the bores ! I measured the Barrel Wall Thickness last evening and the Barrels are great with a minimal wall thickness of 35 Thou., the Damascus should be brought back to life but I think that is all I may do to her ! The gun is a bit loose when shut with the Forend off but decently tight with the forend on and is on face ! The Wood has nice figure but looks as though it spent many years out of a case and being bumped around in a Boat or possibly behind the seat of a Pick Up truck ,it has many small dents ,but no cracks or repairs that I can see ! I am adding a few pictures ,a little better than Cabelas ! I haven't shot her yet ,I am hoping to tomorrow ! Russ

Thank You Bill ,It didn't worry me too much either ,I made sure I could return it should the Barrel Walls be pitted beyond salvage but they are in fact very nice ,mostly over 40 Thou. and no pitting to speak of ,just a little hazing in front of the forcing cones !

Russ
Ihave a friend just outside Wheeling who can bring that damascus pattern back to life. He works on nothing but doubles. Be happy to take you there. You two would get along fine.
Harold
ps--I wish I had bought that Trogan 16 off that guy in Washington.
