Default Closing the loop on barrel inspections?

Have collected double shotguns for many years, I have the wonderful Hosford barrel thickness gauge, 2- Baker bore gauges sets and a Sterrett split ball bore gauge set.

The one thing missing a real good view inside the barrel. That has now changed. For the last 2 years I have used the digital endoscopes and now the digital pocket microscope (Super eyes from, where else, China.) It will take videos and still pictures. It comes with attachments. When I got it on ebay, I paid a whopping $25.00. Check out the picture album I posted and let me know what you think.

I get the best use in inspecting damascus barrels. There are times seeing the creators, even after all the measurements makes the difference in sale/ no sale.

That must be a very special instrument to allow you to see the creators. I wish I could do that. I thought there was only one. Forgive me I am tired of yard work and am bored.

Dare spellcheck every time.

The unit I got is was called "Supereyes 200X Portable USB Microscope". Just Search there are a number of them. "Digital (pocket or portable) microscope.

Get the one that looks just like the one in the photo album I posted. Make sure you buy one with adjustable focusing. It will come with the software need to install on your computer. (Hope you can read Chinese. It's pretty easy to figure out)

I just looked and they now run $25-50.

Not a bad tool. But sometimes barrel bores are like certain women. They look so much better if you don't look too close.

Best, Kensal

Diameter of probe is 11mm ( that's around 0.43 ").
