Default T- MINUS 6 MINUTES....

Last Saturday I had a big time hunting with a good friend!

Pictured is Craig Larter with Drake Mallard stud he pulled out of a group of 4 (3 hens with him) with only 6 minutes to go in his duck hunting season!

Counting it down....
- With 30 minutes left he began talking to himself ("just 1 more bird....just 1 more")
- 15 to go I believe I saw him trembling like my dog does when the birds are close.
-10 minutes and the prayers started to pay off....Over came a group high in the sky and the master caller worked his magic. He just kept calling and they came.
-6 minutes to go - One shot from the DHE 12 bore and it was lights out for the drake. Breast up and motionless. -A layup for the dog... and a celebration for us.

I can't wait until duck hunting starts again!!!

Dean: I'm a Parker guy-------except when I'm a Elsie guy or a Fox guy!!!!
I do like the #2 frame 30"bbl guns for my waterfowl shooting. My good friend Mark was shooting his #2 frame Trojan----he rarely misses ---a great shot.
OK let me get this straight after G comes D then C then B-----guess I have to start searching for a #2 frame 12ga 30" B. Better sell a few Foxes!!

Glad to see that Craig practices diversity, as do I.

Vintage SxS's are like ladies. I like the blonds, brunettes, and redheads!

Is that a Stormy Kromer you're sporting? (Michiganders will know what I'm talking about)

No John it's a Filson. Without a doubt the most comfortable, versatile hat made IMHO. Good to see you Craig with the "Old Reliable" in hand although I would'nt be adverse to seeing you with an HE now and then. I need to get me one of those HE's some day.

Below is a picture of me and my Stormy Kromer taken about two weeks ago on a float down the Au Sable's North Branch. The boat is a little canoe I built several years ago.

Big D,

Might that be a little wood and canvas canoe? I learned how to build W/C canoes four years ago. The end of Feb. I'll really have time on my hands and I'll get a couple more done of the 17.5' variety. Nothing like northern white cedar and canvas.

Nope. it's a kit built using marine grade plywood and the "Stitch and Glue" technique. It's about 14 feet, and weighs 42#. Very stable for the captain who is 6'4'" and weighs too much.
