stock configuration on a DHE 12 bore

I am looking to buy a DHE 12 bore pistol grip gun. Wwere there times when a pistol grip stock would have been available without the points on the stock flats? I am also interetsed in seeing if anyone has pictures of the checkering configuration for a DHE grade. The gun I am looking at does not have the points but all else would indicate it is an original stock.

if it is original wood, the serial number would be under the trigger guard.

thanks for the info. yes I am aware the serial is under the trigger guard. just hate screin with the screws as they are perfect.

Standard DH stock would have drop points and a 3 point checkering pattern on the wrist. Anything other than that would be suspect. But it does not mean it is not original. Would be nice to see pictures of it.
