Default Blued receiver?

Good afternoon, I am new to the forum but not new to the Parker. I have seen many Parkers in many configurations and have seen many odd features. Today I was looking at a collection of doubles of which 2 were DH grade Parkers the gun of interest was in the238XXX range . This gun was in very good condition with a blued receiver. I have come across many blued (non cased guns) and discounted even the possibility of authenticity. The original owner's son said the gun was purchased from Remington by his father and used very little, never needing repair. I know of no other blued Parker from the factory. This blued receiver looks timely to the gun, no evidence of restoration. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ron

There are rare cases were a gun was ordered "blue frame or blue all over" there are even a few cases of guns that were nickle plated. Unfortunatly in the era of the gun in question we don,t have alot of information.Parker would do what the customer wanted within reason as is the case with many other gun manufacterers(sic.)Check our sit.s home page to see if there is any info available for the gun.
