I may be wrong but didn't someone in management at Parker write a letter to Lou Smith at Ithaca critiquing the new Nitro Special in a friendly manner and tease him about being the mayor? Also wasn't the first Parker 410 built with a set of barrels made for a Nitro Special and refitted for the Parker frame? Thought I read that in "Ithaca From the Beginning" by Walt Snyder.

Walt Snyder reads and posts on the Ithaca subforum on shotgunworld.com There is an Ithaca Gun Company subforum over there, but Walt participates in the "I love my Ithaca" forum. There is also a letter out there where Parker and Ithaca discuss the ventilated rib.
