Default 4 bore blunderbuss

I found a company who makes a 4 ga blunder buss 20" barrel for 1500$. But said they can nake longer barrels. Im waiting to hear back on a 36"barre hopefully still full stock. Oh yeah looking at getting it in percussion ignition.

I read a article about colonials shooting british ships along rivers with 4bore blunderbusses.

Oh the muzzle loader smith said he thinks id be more happy with a english fowler pattern rifle or smooth bore in true 4 bore 1.050". Caplock percussion.
im thinking it would be really neat to see about making it like 6' long that should be a 50" barrel. 5oz loads at 1100fps is the goal . Loads are about 12-17dramsbald of powder guess 13-14drams is a good hunting load maybe if it has the velocity. Need to get a book.
i read in africa they called them 4bore muskets "roah".
My neighbors will hate me hunting squirrel in the early mornings lol.
I want it choked full.
Depending on his quote i might be able to 50% now to get the build started.

Oh mr charlie i found a new auction site for big bores. They had numerous 4,7,,8,10 ga sxs and singles

What us attractive to me about muzzle loading is all you really need is powder and shot.no expensive hulls or brass oddball cases
