I only have three functioning shotguns right now. My RBL 20 is my daily user, but the Syracuse Lefever 12 handles so much better! The 1877 Lifter with 32" barrels weighs pert near 10 pounds and does not get used alot! Maybe this season I will use it more. I never could afford nice vintage shotguns with little use and lots of finish remaining. That is why I only have three. The fourth is an 1879 Lifter 10 that needs a bit of work. It is all there, but needs to have the stock fitted better (it is an old re-stock). Cheers!

after handling them ole 10 ga s a 16 ga does seem mighty lite and easy to tote...makes you wonder why we drag them old 10 s around in the woods...but when we start missing them shots we use to hit we remember a 16 will just not do on those longer shots.... charlie

Calvin,
Yes, that is an 1881 12 gauge. I have an 1881 10 gauge as well that was my Uncle Taylors. I shot the 12 today and cleaned the clocks of several over and under shooters at Elk Creek. Harry |
