Hello all. I managed to squeak out a 2nd Win 21 purchase recently. It is configured same as my first. Early 1933 production, double triggers, 30 inch bbls and same drops. It was labeled as Mod and Full. When I checked actual constricts I was a little disappointed to find the Mod was Lite Mod at .015. The Full was .038 like I wanted.
I finally was able to get out since weather has let up. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how nice this combo worked out on both our clays courses. The Woods course is mostly close open choke shots, the Marsh course is longer crossers with occasional close shots added.
To my enjoyment the tight Full wasn't a detriment on the Woods course and was very much a nice improvement on the Marsh course. This particular gun and chokes combined may be my Fave from now on for clays. I'm seriously contemplating on using this for Hunting now as it has the original metal finishes which have the usage one would expect see on a firearm this old.
I'm amazed at how much I keep learning on what works best for my shooting style and needs. I think back on how much I could have saved if only I knew these things years ago during my "buy it and see if it works" stage.
