Default How does Lou know only 250 16 gauge O Frames were made?

http://www.gunsamerica.com/931940046...ame_c_1916.htm

Parker VH 16ga, c1916, O-Frame, 2,070 16's made, only 250 were O-Frames, 26"bbl, L-.028 imp mod, R-.030 full, LOP; Heel 14 1/4", center 14 1/4", toe 14 1/2. Drop; Comb 1 1/2", Heel 2 3/8". Cast; Heel 3/16", toe 1/4".Its in good condition, small crack on left side stock near butt plate. Sides of the receiver have areas of color left. Receiver Floor, and trigger guard are overall silver finish. Overall it is a well preserved gun, with exceptional bores.

I can't believe that only 250 O frame 16 GA were made, because I have two of them. One of mine has been restocked back as a straight grip as I found it, the other has a D grade stock.

There is no way to know and the price is ridiculous.

This gun was discussed earlier this year. Same question and same price.

Yeh, the claims of many sellers goes beyong the pale. Just look at, for example, some gunbroker auctions, and many parkers are "rare" or in "great original conditon" only to be found to have cut barrels or be very common. I have seen three Parkers in the past week that have cut barels according to the book, and the sellers either do not care or are dishonest and continue to list them as original. Caveat emptor

I thought we settled this a long time ago; the "scarce, the "rare", the "raw' and the "cooked"! Got to set some boundaries here!!

As long as there are sellers who are either uninformed themselves or of shallow ethics hoping to snag an uninformed buyer these words are likely to continue to be used. Again, caveat emptor.
