Default Ordered by DuBray ?

Another thread here causes me to wonder if members place more significance on a Parker that letters as ordered by DuBray when he was out west (apparently shipped to him), versus a Parker ordered by DuBray and indicated as shipped to Dyas or to some other sporting goods company?

Here is a AH with a duBray connection. It was sold to him and I assume it was a gun he shot and showed prospective customers. I believe he was in the west in 1897? I don't attach any more significance to the gun but do find it interesting that duBray most likely held the gun and shot it.

Personally I would not place any more significance or value on a duBray ordered gun. I do think it's cool when his name is in the mix. Now if he actually owned and used the gun personally and such provenance could be documented that would mean something to me. Out West vs East would not mean much to me. Following are a couple of letter excerpts where duBray was in the mix as a salesman, way cool but not really significant IMO, others may think differently.

I have a nice VH 12 (30" two triggers, straight/splinter) that I bought at auction as a pheasant gun. After purchase, our good research chair provided information that the gun was DuBray ordered and sent to the West Coast.

Would I have paid more for it knowing this information? The way I am at auctions, I don't think I could have paid any more for it.

Reading the 3 factory letters from the previous posts is very interesting. They are very interesting grades and extras with lots of information along with the duBray connection.

My PH 16 came out of Texas and Dubray's name was in the letter as the salesman.
This is the gun with the great wood and the Selous plates repair on the wrist.

We might compare any DuBray connected gun with the published list of DuBray's guns with serial numbers. This list has probably been posted on this forum at some time.

I have checked that list for the hammergun I posted about. It’s not on the list.

Search "dubray gun list" and you will find two links posted by John Davis.
