A Potential VHE Purchase
I have the potential to purchase a VHE with good barrels that are not dented and bluing is good. Also the receiver has about 75% of original bluing/colors. Lockup is tight and all match. The barrels are 28" and appear not to be cut and ring true. LOP is 14.5" with Parker buttplate. My one concern is that can see a couple of pins/small nails in the stock toward the receiver. Is this normal on a VH? Asking price is $1800 with leg 'o mutton case. A good deal?
Here are some rather poor pics as all I had was my cell phone.
Also, I would to get some work done to my DH. Does anyone know Bill Schwarz' number?

Nails in the stock head by the action frame are not as Parker made them, but indicative of a cracked stock head which may or may not be adequately repaired.
Cracked stock heads can be invisibly repaired by gluing and internal pinning.
