Default New to me EH

I recently acquired an EH 10ga. 30" and finally got out this afternoon to shoot it. Been raining and 45 degrees for several days here on the Gulf Coast and the sun finally peeked out and we saw 60 today. An unfired shotgun is always a motivator! Stopped and picked up a case of clays and headed to the club. After spending the weekend 2 weeks ago with an 0 frame 16 chasing quail this felt like swinging a telephone pole! BUT, I didn't buy it to hunt quail. I'm looking forward to those high flying White Wings of September.

The Short Ten hits harder and shoots further than one would think it would.

A very early hammerless 10 ga. ,is it on a 2 frame ? i think it would be one of the 1st runs of hammerless 10 's made. i think the early hammerless guns were 12's on 2 frames so they made a lot of early 10's on the same frame to get some out there to the customers ???

It is on a #2 frame. I was pleasantly surprised on the wood, better than the pics I saw. I think this is a "first year" hammerless from what I have found.

One of my EH guns is a circa 1889 2 frame 30” that has rather nicely figured wood as well .

That gun could smoke a turkey this spring season.

I've never killed a turkey with a shotgun. My idea of spring turkey hunting is driving a South Texas property with a bull barrel varmint rifle and a cold cerveza. I actually rarely shoot one, prefer to just watch. A Pecos variety wild turkey isn't much on the eating side (small and tough as an old boot, breast only part really edible) but a beautiful creature and it's fascinating to watch the spring ritual.
