I am fortunate enough to own a DH Parker 12 gauge S/N 82226. This gun was one of 16 original Parker's deliverd with Vulcan Barrels.I believe that S/N 82225-30, 82232-34, 82269-74 were delivered in 1895-96 with Vulcan barrels. There was also a BH I believe. The Vulcan barrels became the standard on the VH around 1899. That said, I am sure there were plenty of guns sent back and had Vulcan barrels installed. Out of curiosity what is your S/N ?

I have a GH from around 1897 that sports Vulcan barrels numbered to the gun. I have not gotten a letter, but my conjecture is the Parker was rebarreled at the factory.

Get a letter, Harry. Post it on this forum when you get it. Vulcan Steel barrels were installed as second sets on guns up to A1 Special grade.

I've seen a DH rebarrled with Remington barrels that were labeled Vulcan in part on the side of the lug where the SN formerly appeared. Erick |

My 10 gauge is like that, it started life as a damascus G grade then must have gone back to Remington for the fluid steel V grade magnum tubes.
