Comb Transplant
A few weeks ago I asked whether anyone had ever installed an adjustable comb on their low-stocked Parker. Austin posted a picture of a monte carlo he transplanted on a hamergun of his. It inspired me to do the same. The gun in question is a 1900 DH flat-rib that a prior owner had trimmed the comb down to 1 3/4" x 2 3/4". I had an old stock which I cut the comb off and after cutting the existing comb off the DH, glued the transplant on and finished it down. Stock finish is shellac and linseed rubbed back with rottenstone. I should have wiped off the finger smudges before the pictures. The dimensions are now 1 1/2" x 1 7/8". The first picture is the before with old pad.
