Default Simmons barrels

Well, the story keeps a changin. I wrote them a $5,000 check last April with the "promise" of a 28ga & 16 ga barrel by Sept. Sept became Oct, became "no latter than" Jan. I received a call from Reggy Jamison yesterday that when they open the box my barrels were in they were 20 ga not 28ga. The last story was when they checked my barrels they were 28" not 30" and had to start over. I am now told two more weeks??? He also mentioned something about the Southern. I do feel Reggy is a good guy and doing the best he can, sort of like trying to push on a string. Well.lots of ducks,8 more days left in the season than on to the snipe.

I feel your pain, I have two in gun smith storage, both where scheduled for completion more than once six months ago. It must be a trait handed down from one smith to another.

Gotta a bad feeling about the Simmons barrel project. They have not met any of their promises. I'd want a refund and they could call me if they EVER get any barrels built.

David,

That really stinks. I hate to assume anything (you know what it stands for) but from what you have written I bet the barrels are not complete, were never completed, and it was the tubes (only the tubes in the box) that were the wrong gauge and the barrels have yet to be put together. My feeling from talking to Reggie, not that long ago, is that none of the barrel sets are even together. IMHO even without this latest set back I would say dont expect your barrels until Sept.
I hope it works out to your satisfaction.

Some good news-My gun is with Brad Bachelder and he will do all the remaining work. He is waiting for 28ga barrels to arrive from Briley and upon arrival it should be under 90 days until the gun is completed. Brad's reputation is excellent and I feel relieved. Simmons is not involved in doing any of the work or supplying any of the material for these projects. Some light at the end of the tunnel?

One piece barrels or monobloc/sleeved?

A frustrating experience and it sounds to be turning the right way. Hope you get what Parker people want, David.

Bill ... I want a set of fluid steel barrels for mt 20ga Lifter Gun I can taste it ... But I'm waiting to see if Simmons current crop of customers is satisfied with the service and workmanship they provide ... Time will tell, and I've got more time than money.
