Parker initial oval plate

All, the Parker 12ga DH I have has a silver oval initial plate and was told that would not have been original. I have seen the original Parker insert but it doesn’t appear large enough for initials. I have seen other restored Parker’s with this oval. Was this an option at the time it was ordered?

The oval initial plate was standard for all Parker Grade 3 hammerless (DH/DHE) guns.
