Nothing quite like blooding a gun on your first outing with it... and nothing but beauty in that photo -- natural and man made.

Nothing like late season mallards and a Parker to bring them out of the sky. What loads were you using?

I was shooting some of the old Bismuth Company Upland Game Loads in #4 and some
Eley VIP Bismuth shells with fiber wads in #4. Several years ago I bought ten boxes of the eley's on double gun shop. I bought half of what the gentleman had. I am kicking myself for not buy the rest, as I am down to three boxes left. |

Beautiful gun Jeff - that must be one of the very latest Parker Grade 4 guns made with Bernard barrels.
I especially like the border engraving! .

I always go back and forth on what the best size is for bismuth shot duck hunting and it seems like when you hit them with #4 you have a hard hit duck that's likely dead and not one your chasing around the slough. At longer ranges, 40+ yards, which are typically what mallards are at #5 and #6 just don't seem to have the knock down power.
