Default One of my favorite parts of my job!

I am sharing these photos as I know many on here have a distinct interest in promoting the shooting sports to the next generation.

We won't have our district trap shoot till the middle of may. But we are having our district 4-H .22 Rifle and Pistol contest today. 100 + 3rd-12th graders will be shooting today in 3 seperate age divisions. I am proud to say that 25 of em are 4-H kiddos I get to work with!
Just thought I would share!

I headed up a Pheasant hunt at our gun club on youth opening day last fall.

A week ago i took my 12 yr old grandson, Logan, to the club to learn gun safety and shoot some skeet. I explained to Logan that the one thing I wanted him to learn today was how to handle the shotgun safely, that it didnt matter today if he hit any clays or not, that the first step in gun handling is safety. The rest will come. He had his choice of a 20 ga Trojan and a single barrel 410 springfield that my father gave me when i was 12. He chose the 410. Well to make a long story short, he handled the gun superbly in all respects and managed to break 2 birds. Papa was thrilled and another young lad appears to have joined the shooting community. I was and my friends who were shooting with us were so proud of logan.
