Setter Club New England Spring Field Trial, April 13/14
Setter Club of New England will be hosting its Spring Field Trial at Crane WMA (East Falmouth, Cape Cod) Saturday, April 13th and Sunday, April 14th. Everyone is invited to come and watch the action. It's a walking trial so its fairly easy for the gallery to keep up with the handlers and dogs. There will also be gallery pickup truck available for following the action for those that want to ride along. Over 2 days there will be 7 stakes total for both pros and amateurs. We're expecting 50-60 competitive dogs to be running. If you've never seen a field trial dog run lights out and lock up on birds in a nanosecond this is a good one to come watch.
The SCNE was founded in 1924. This years' Spring Field Trial will be (something like) its 82nd running and has always attracted many of the top handlers and dogs in the mid-Atlantic and New England areas.
Easy directions - Over Bourne Bridge on Rt. 28 about 10 miles to Rt.151 Exit. Take left on Rt. 151 towards Mashpee for about a mile to the yellow flashing light. Make a left turn at the yellow flashing light into a parking area and proceed past orange gate to where everyone will be. The Rt. 151 entrance will be clearly marked with an orange FIELD TRIAL sign. Starting time is 7:00am both days and will run to late in the afternoon/early evening. Hope to see some of you there.
