My hammerless NH chatters when you push over on the top lever. Sounds like it's coming from inside. Is there any way I can get some oil to the spot that needs it without taking it apart? ch

A light spray of Ballistol should cure that.

Calvin: I hope it doesn't turn into a chatter box lock. Calvin keep your eyes peeled for the post man. Thomas L. Benson Sr.

No, spray it under the top lever where it pivots.

yes and hold up on the barrels when moving the lever over there is a lot of weight out there and i think it " chatters" across the barrel lug. both my 10's do it and i've oiled them both many times but when i hold up and move the lever it does not chatter. scott

When I first got my NH it chattered when opened. It suddenly came off face within weeks of owning it (probably a shim I didn't see) I took it to a gunsmith who put it back on face. Not only tight as a drum and lever to the right, but no more chatter Don't know if the cure was having it put back on face or he lubed something when it was apart.
