Default RST fibre wad loads

Has anyone hunted with RST fibre wad loads? What reason do they have a fibre wad? -Is it for a better pattern or wider pattern or is it to just stop plastic wads from polluting the environment

Fiber is going to throw wider than shells with shot cups. Most of our guns were choked for fiber, tighter by about one choke when shot cups are used. One day I plan to pattern fiber alongside regular and spreader just to see if I ought to be using them in some smokeless powder loads. Right now only fiber I load is with Black powder and paper hulls were they work very well. Nostalgia, paper hull and fiber wad is a good combination.

I read in the UK fiber is required by many landowners.

Here is the reply I got back from RST on my fibre wad question.
Jim,
It's more for the plastic pollution side of things. You do get a better seal, but you also get some leading in the barrels. The lack of the plastic fingers does open the pattern some but it's not a huge difference like a spreader.

Thank you

Julie

Did I read somewhere that someone was making a biodegradable wad? I think I heard that adding baking soda to the plastic accelerated decomposition.
