You can check the stock wood under the triggerguard to see if the serial number is impressed in the wood along with the grade #. Photos of the stock posted here would yield some informed opinions about the correctness of the stock. If in doubt a letter could be ordered that might or might not answer the question of originality of the buttplate. Erick |

Thank you for the replys. I suspect it was a well done replacement and am happy with the purchase. It fits me adequately and is a 28" barreled single triggered gun so whether all original or not I bought it to use, as well as admire.

You never know. I have a CHE with a DHBP. It was re-stocked by Remington in Ilion. They used what they had.
