Default Tulsa gun show find

Was walking some aisles during a break from setting up and found a grade 3 hammer 10 ga. With 30 inch barrels. Barrels are a bit dinged up and the stock has a recoil pad and a repair above the right lock plate but the engraving on the action is quite nice and hammers are matching. Price is very reasonable I think, $1000 or best offer. I didn't buy it and it might be gone already but I will check back on it tomorrow.

Sounds like a nice gun. Seems to be a fair price too. Post some pics if you get it.

Gun was sold to Dave. It was nice to meet you and hope you can get the 10 back to glory.

Travis, that gun was not lacking in glory!
It turns out the right lock problem will be an easy fix. At some point in time the tumbler was replaced and was never completely timed. The hammer was actually striking the firing pin, as I found out by a blood blister to my finger when I used it as a snap cap!😵
A bit of attention to the stock, a little cleaning and some easy smith work will put this ole 10 back up to snuff.
It was indeed a pleasure to meet you and I'm really glad the gun is going home with me. I wish we had had more time to visit but we were both pretty busy with the show.
I'll post some pictures as soon as I get a chance.

Here are a few pictures of the Grade 3. I'm going to start work on it soon but will not do any thing to the barrels, receiver and locks except clean them up a bit. Most of the work will be to the stock.

What a beautiful Parker!
That was made in the period when Parker engraving was at its height - it is an absolutely wonderful example anyone would be proud to own.

I especially like the band of engraving around the barrel breeches... very unusual.

The condition of the engraving makes up for the shortcomings in the wood. What a gun for $1,000 if that is all he was asking.
