Default 12ga 28" A1S

I had the opportunity to view a Parker 12ga. 2 1/2", 28" VR, DT, SF, PG, Gr. 8 A1S SN188852, THE SERIAL NUMBER DOES NOT SHOW IN THE SERILAIZATION BOOK. The current owner does not wish to submit any photos at this time. The Water Table marked A1S, 188852, 8 on the lower half; with patent dates on the upper half. Barrels are marked Peerless Steel on the rib, with P, Peerless stamp, J.G. in oval, PK 3, 26 along the left flat. The Peerless stamp with 3# 7oz. stamp on the right. The lug is stamped 12 and frame size 1. Flats and water table are damascened.

Case colored receiver with full coverage engraving (unsigned) featuring partridge and grouse game scenes. Gold Parker Bros. banner, gold inlaid serial number, pistol grip cap with oval initials F.A.M. Forend iron matches in color, engraving, serial number and jeweling. The stock has excellent figure with checkering and carving typical of examples of A1 Specials shown in The Parker Story but has been cut with poorly fit Hawkins pad. The current owner is seeking information regarding the authenticity of this gun and any info that might be known. He received this gun from the estate of Dr. Munshaw. It is cased and in excellent condition. Before his death, Dr. Munshaw related to the current owner it is one of three guns; each engraved by one of 3 German engravers who on completion decided to return to their homeland.

I am new to the forum, deal sparingly in Parker guns and would appreciate any comment.

Mike, It looks like Griffin & Howell has information on this gun. Put the ser# in to check for yourself at http://secure.griffinhowe.com/Resear...al.cfm?make=34 and contact them as instructed.
